VLS Supplemental Child Abuse Trainings: Recompletion Required

Recomplete all trainings by March 14, 2025

In 2023, at the request of the U.S. Department of Defense’s Office of Military Community and Family Policy: Office of Child and Youth Programs, the Virtual Lab School team developed four trainings to support CYP staff in the prevention, identification, and reporting of child abuse and neglect. These include three brief trainings (aimed at all CYP staff) and one webinar (aimed at program leaders). The Department of Defense is committed to keeping all children and youth safe by strengthening requirements for child abuse prevention, identification, and reporting. As a result, all CYP staff are required to recomplete the Virtual Lab School Supplemental Training courses developed to support child abuse prevention, identification, and reporting no later than March 14, 2025.

Please note that these trainings are not listed in the VLS website professional development catalogs or dashboards. They can only be accessed using the links above or in the DoD Resource Kit. The VLS will not be issuing assessments, certificates, or tracking progress. Please consult leadership at your program or Service if you have additional tracking or administrative questions.
