This webinar focuses on key updates to the fourth edition of NAEYC’s Developmentally Appropriate Practice including an emphasis on equity and the need to address and disrupt implicit bias, the role of social and cultural contexts of both children and educators, a shift from “best practices” to a dynamic set of practices, and updates to principles of child development including the use of technology and interactive media in the learning environment. In this webinar we discuss the three core considerations, examine significant updates and shifts reflected in this latest edition of DAP, and highlight lessons, resources, and tools within the VLS that reflect these updates.
