The Backpack Connection Series was created by TACSEI (Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children, which has since merged with NCPMI) to provide a way for staff and family members to work together to help young children develop social emotional skills and to reduce challenging behavior. Each Backpack Connection handout provides information that helps family members stay informed about what their child is learning in their program and specific ideas on how to use the strategy or skill at home. Staff members may choose to send a handout home in each child’s backpack when a new strategy or skill is introduced to the program. You can access the entire list of Backpack Connection Series handouts on the NCPMI (National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations) website: https://challengingbehavior.org/implementation/family-engagement/#backpack Below is an annotated list of selected handouts from the National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations site. Reproductions of their handouts are encouraged. Addressing Behavior
